Did you crave anything today?

My OMAD choice of the day was edamame pasta. Not bad and took care of my pasta craving! Have you tried it?

Dark cocoa powder is good for you, and there's a lot of research available about health benefits of honey (including regulating blood sugar!). I've been enjoying honey sweetened cocoa enormously

Nurseharpy, is cocoa powder as good as cacao (we can buy both in powder form here in the UK)? I've never been sure of the difference between them - except the price!

Pasta, chopped veg of your choice (including cooked edamame), dressing of your choice. Voila!

Funnily enough, I can usually take chocolate or leave it, but when there's nothing chocolate-flavoured in the house I start to get a craving. I'll even look at chocolate cakes on Google Images, but if you offered me a slice I'd probably say, "Mm-naaah." Crazy mixed-up kid.

I have a parcel to take to the Post Office this afternoon. That will mean returning past M&S, and I have had chocolate eclairs on my mind since yesterday evening ...

What did I crave today? The media would shut up about Covid!
Response from Nurseharpy made on 3rd Sep 2020 11:42:23
Good luck with that, when it impacts our lives so immensely

I'm not so sure Covid has impacted our lives so much as the government/media response to a virus that was downgraded by the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) on March 19th. ACDP stated COVID 19 should no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK.

To be fair ACDP also stated the government's response was adequate at that date.

I'm by no means a conspiracy theorist yet one must weigh best advice from ACDP and the government's haphazard and overwhelming response to get a balance. so far I haven't achieved that balance.

We in the U.S. have the added complication of Donald Trump, who has totally politicized the whole thing. He sees things only as they impact him, and was dumb enough to downplay the whole thing enough that his followers did also, and we're in a huge pickle as a result. I don't know when we'll be able to pick up the pieces of our economy, probably not until there are much better treatments and/or a vaccine, since testing is being discouraged.

I must apologise to you, Nurseharpy, mistakenly I'd assumed you are in the UK and familiar with our political, financial and medical shambles.

As a near 70 year old political observer I can say I've never known our politicians fail to make capital out of a good crisis, or indeed fail to manufacture a crisis where none exists. Each crisis is manipulated to suit their own political ends.

I'm left wondering what the real-time outcome of Covid will be for our country, and yours!

Getting back to how things used to be !!!!!!!!!!!
Response from Nurseharpy made on 3rd Sep 2020 11:38:55
I think that things will gradually return to normal as better treatments and vaccines are found. There is so much research going on, there have been huge gains in understanding the illness. This will probably be a distant memory in a year, I'm guessing.
