Hello , I do have divi, but I don't suffer with it. There are so many contradictory reports on what to eat ,what not to ,diets and don't eats, I treat mine with no special anything ,but I do take Probiotics every day Happy bugs that keep the bad bugs under control. My bowels are kept on the move, as constipation can cause a problem, Eating is not a problem ,I eat small meals, and I do mean small.Chew everything well ,as it makes digesting easier .I drink flavoured water, Just keep everything moving, and do not let it rule your life. Paracetamol will help if you do get a flare, you seem to be taking a lot of antibiotics Lying down ,flattens out your colon . more info if you need it .

That is why it is important for your GP to refer you to a dietician. He/she will understand such problems and titrate a diet to meet your needs, that is what they are professionally trained for. There are also a number off support groups in the UK that you may find helpful, just look on-line.

Diet is important, especially a high fibre diet. However, your GP should be able to refer you to a dietician who can help with advise about diet based on your weight and height etc. and this may help prevent or reduce flare-ups. Paracetamol may help with the pain of spasm, there is plenty of advice on-line from NHS sites.
