Finding online penfriends

I have been writing to penfriends for over fifty years, and thought it would be interesting to look for some new ones.

Not that there's anything wrong with the old ones, some have been with me through the trials and tribulations of life since we were in our early 20's and we're all now pushing 70.

With modern technology, penfriending is different to when I began, now there are lots of sites, many of them free, where you can search for a new friend to email or write to, whichever you want. There are some weirdos out there it has to be said, some who claim to come from cyberspace for example. And from my experience over the last couple of months, there are none who actually want to make a long term genuine friendship. Lots of them just want another number, another name, to add to their list, so they can brag about how many 'friends' they have. All full of good intentions at the start, but three emails in and they're usually gone.

And I've also learnt there are a lot of liars out there, and been warned against scammers, but they wouldn't get past me, and luckily none have tried. I have just come off the site I was on, still no genuine offers of friendship, nobody new to get to know. Maybe I'm too fussy/particular... well, actually I know I am but refuse to change what I am looking for, just to find an online penfriend.

So just in case anyone reads this and would also like someone to email, then feel free to reply.

My hobbies are many and varied from needlework to junk journalling, music, books, television, gardening, cookery. Afternoon naps and daydreaming are up there as well!

And I'll write to male or female, single or married.... see, I'm not that fussy after all! So long as we share some interests and are of similar age. Thanks for reading.

I am open, honest, and straight forward. Also interested in genuine friendship. And yes, I know the difference.
