Food Rationing - should it be introduced?

What do we think about re-introducing wartime food rationing?

Amazon are incredible. I had to take my 91 year old dad to the doctors and he needed specialised bandages. None in the local pharmacy but 2 days later Amazon delivered ...what an amazing service!

I'm pretty sure Jeff Bezos will come up with an AMAZON app for food rationing where supplies are delivered by drone. Just have to give over ALL of your personal data - (Amazon have got most of it anyway).

I definitely think it should be, or perhaps as in Italy, only certain areas should be allowed to shop on certain days of the week. I too live in a rural area and am struggling to find the basics.

Having lived with Food Rationing I don't think we are there yet,if stores limit the number of items any one person can take should be enough. I am worried that Delivery Services are overwhelmed and cannot cope. Iceland and Co-op will not deliver to my Postcode although they go to a friend about 1/2 a mile away. Asda can't get through to, Tesco no slots for two weeks. We are OK for the present and were brought milk and bread today, but it might need the army to set up deliveries to rural/out of town residents before too long don't you think?

I don't think we need rationing yet but I do agree the army should be bought in en mass to help with deliveries of food and essentials. That is a really good idea and I am sure would have full public support.

The way some people are acting (and don't even talk to me about Sainsburys' so-called concern for old people), I thin rationing is going to be inevitable. It'll take ages to set up, though (printing ration books and whatever) and, in the meantime, some elderly/infirm people are going to go hungry. Not everyone is known to social services and not everyone has family/friends of the right age to help. It's got to get worse before it gets better (sorry to be a misery) and I hope the government already has some kind of fair division of food in progress.
