What games do you play regularly on your iPad, Laptop or phone? Do you play on your own, or play with friends?

Hi, I only play scrabble against the computer but am amazed by the words it comes up with, most of which I have never heard!

Er....You don't think that it's possibly cheating? Making words up? They can be devious little devils, you know. That don't take kindly to being beaten by a mere human!

Some years ago I used to enjoy playing a game called Pharo, it was set in Ancient Egypt and involved sustainable building before that became a Government buzzword! My new laptop, HP Pavilion won't recognise the disc so no more play for me ....bot that game anyway.
My question for the forum is Does Anyone know of a similar game please. Doesn't have to be Egypt anywhere sort of realistic would be fine.
I downloaded Forge of Empires the other day but to make any progress involves spending quite a sizable sum so I shall abandon that.
Equally Civilization is too expensive and anyway I can't see if it is compatible with Microsoft Windows 10.

Any suggestions please .... otherwise it's back to the knitting.

I will be 71 in 10 days time. But still find that I am fortunate enough to have to have a lively, alert brain. To this end, I regularly play Sudoku at the advanced level on my iPad. I've beaten the beast on several occasions. My best time being just 8½ minutes! An achievement I don't think I'll beat anytime soon. I also enjoy Solitaire and Spider Solitaire.

I gave my iPad 2 to my daughter but then missed it so much that I bought a 2nd had mint iPad Mini.
My favourite games are Solitaire, Spider solitaire, Sudoku & Mahjongg, with the occasional foray into Battleship.
What I do enjoy, on my iPad and iPhone is Planefinder. And on my Mac, Flight Radar. Boyz Toyz really. But I have been a lifelong Plane spotter. And these apps save me having to visit airports.

I don't have an iPad yet but I love playing casual games on my desktop computer.
My grandson introduced me this new browser form Google and it has a lot of free games that you can install and play.
You first have to install the browser (just search Google Chrome), then click the the webstore icon (I don't know how to describe it ...but it takes you here : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/apps).
Once you reach the store just click on the thumbnails of any game you find interesting and it will show you more details.
If you like what you see just click the Add To Chrome button ( it's a blue button in the top right corner) and the game will be added to your start page.
Once it's on your start page you can play it any time by just clicking on it.

Here are a few nice games that I played and recommend :

Solitaire (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/solitaire/lkbhppfbabandkdmgjmifahoabeodiep)
Sudoku (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sudoku/agdhembpgcpfegeigidembjopfhghnpj)
Jigsaw Puzzles (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jigsaw-puzzles-daily/fnjcfkigenhanhgbeajpachkjahjmmbk)
Chess (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mobialia-chess-3d/nngfppohnieolpklikdmhbofoabooijm)
Word Search (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/the-word-search-puzzles/bopklhjfkjagoccpoiaipoflajhhljgb)
Cut the Rope (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cut-the-rope/jfbadlndcminbkfojhlimnkgaackjmdo)
Angry Birds (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/angry-birds/aknpkdffaafgjchaibgeefbgmgeghloj)

Some of these are actually websites (when you click the icon in Chrome it will take you to a site) but they are all free and safe.
My all time favorite is the jigsaw puzzles one (you can install it by going to it on the link above (3rd one ) in Chrome or at http://www.dailyjigsawpuzzles.net/ ).
I've been playing the daily puzzle for over 6 months now and I can truly say I'm addicted.
The wife loves it too .... we like to compare times and challenge each other for the best time.

Hope you like my suggestions.
I would love to see what other people are playing.

All the best,
Jack
