Genealogy after a Home move

I moved home in June to a lovely place but because of coronavirus feel somewhat isolated.

I do have a mobility issue and have lost some confidence to don’t want to sit and watch the tele all day and originally thought I can get out and start enjoying life again but doesn’t look likely anytime soon.

I do enjoy reading and my favourite is genealogy which I’ve worked on for 20 years now.

Perhaps someone would like to chat do hope so

Hi Edinas,
Are you researching your own family tree? I use Ancestry to do my research and although it's quite expensive for world-wide access, I've found second cousins in Australia and some other relatives in America as well as a first cousin who lost touch with the family after his father committed suicide at the beginning of WW2 and his mother took him and his brothers away and would not keep in touch with their father's family. Such a shame as there were loads of cousins and second cousins as well as aunts and uncles that they knew nothing about.
I've also researched all the men on the war memorial of a village where I used to live. The children at the local primary school found it fascinating as I printed all the men's details and put the information in a folder with photos of the men where possible.
Have you looked at your local U3A to see what groups you could join and make friends? I know that many of the groups are still not able to meet up yet but as the regulations relax that is a great way to meet new people whilst pursuing an interest or a hobby.
