God is dead

No-one has ever seen god, no-one has ever heard his voice, so is god dead, or does he simply just not care about the chaos here on earth?

I do not believe in God, but I have always envied people who have faith. It often helps them to cope with everything that life throws at us. As a retired nurse, I often saw people who were not religious, pray in times of great stress.

Churchgoers often seem to have good social lives too, lots going on in and around churches !

When I was a kid, I told all the kids in my class at school that God lived in our toilet, all the kids burst out laughing. The teacher looked puzzled and asked why. I told her that every time my Mum walked passed the door, she would say...God, you still in there. I hated them kids for laughing at me

God never existed, religion is a means of controlling populations. The chaos on earth as you rightly call it is caused by politicians, nobody else.

Sorry I do not agree. God always existed. Its just that we are too stupid to understand any of the universe.....at the moment
Response from celtwitch Original Poster made on 9th Apr 2016 11:29:05
If god 'always existed' how come there is NO evidence to support your assertion?

GoD = Group of Developers .... and allll this is an experiment on a lab bench with the Developers having a darn good laugh at what is going on

With the benefit of hindsight, my 'statement' should have been a question, 'Is god dead?'

As Carl Sagan possibly one of the worlds brightest scientists said the answer is in a mathematical equation where there is a message for us. Think about that. How can that be? Then you can start to understand God and the universe and how little we understand

He also said, on the subject of 'god.' 'Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.' But, where is the evidence?
Response from ThatManViv made on 28th Jul 2016 06:29:40
sounds an expected response from a scientist

Hello celtwitch.
I don't see how someone can be dead when they never existed. Religion baffles me totally. For example superstitious folk etc. are perhaps convinced but this is an one of many old argumentative chestnuts and the powers that be have answers to all the questions put to them. Can't see how it is anything but a means of controlling the population. To what end I don't know.

I don't think you can blame God for your perceived 'chaos'! We have the tools, brains and ability to create a Utopia here on Earth but we choose to destroy each other instead. If I gave you a piece of bread and asked you to lightly toast it and you chose to cremate it, do you believe that it is then appropriate to blame God!
If you won £100m on the Lotto, would you thank God?
So many questions and so few answers.
Good luck with your quest to get an answer that suits you.

It isn't 'perceived' chaos, have you seen what's going on in Syria, have you seen the beheading videos where Christian children are chopped into 2 pieces, are you aware of the sex slave trade in Christian girls as young as 5 or 6?
Your toast analogy proves nothing, if I 'chose' to burn your bread it would have been my choice and nothing to do with a non existing god. And,if I won the £100 I would thank my instincts for buying the ticket, not 'god.'
I don't understand why believers get so tetchy when someone asks a simple question that challenges their 'faith.'
If 'god' exists it keeps a very low profile, so low, in fact, that we can be forgiven for concluding that t isn't there at all.
The persecuted Christians in Syria and other majority countries must be praying so hard for salvation, yet 'god' ignores their prayers. Prayers are never answered, how could they be, when there is no-one on the other end of the line?
