I didn't have much luck either. Thinking of starting a WhatsApp called Just Friends. Or. Holiday Companions. What do you think

Hi christine1066,

This sounds like a great idea to me - there's got to be so many people that would enjoy making some new friends in similar circumstances.

Yes. I'm already in a WhatsApp for tennis. It works great.
Will need a name like 'holiday companions or buddies' something similar. that covers for us single people. Don't want to sound like a dating site Have you got any ideas? Tina/Chris
Ps. I'm on Facebook so you can look me up.. .

A Whats app sounds good but someone needs to be the organiser .It has been tried but all fell through trying to find a place and date for a 1st meeting .It isn't wise to go of on holiday with people you haven't met before.

Yes you're right ecarg,to holiday with someone you're never met
or talked to would be foolhardy.
Common sense means it's best to WhatsApp in your own area so you can meet up. I'm East Sussex. I would always book my own room ;as most of us would do. So if you're didn't enjoy your companions company you can still enjoy holiday. We're all in the same boat and you can always look for problems, but then you'll never do anything. So many of us on our own !

Thankyou for the advice

Hi Chris,

The only names I've managed to come up with are maybe 'breakaway buddies' or 'fellow traveler's' not madly inspired I'm afraid 🙂 I know it would need a bit or organization perhaps into areas etc but it's such a great idea and would give people something to look forward to.

Sadly, I think I might be the only person on the planet not on Facebook - don't know what it is I just don't trust it. Whatsapp however I can live with so it could be worse!

Very sensible to try and meet up in various areas and have our own rooms.

Hi. Breakaway Buddies. East Sussex.sounds good. I definitely think you'd have to put your area. I think that's why not many people bother with Silver Surfers; too big and too general.
So many of us on our own and it's really difficult to not get downcast. The world seems full of couples. Anyway, any more thoughts . Chris
