You are only as happy as your unhappiest child

I once heard someone saying this and it really struck a chord with me. Obviously my family are adults, but if any of them are going through a difficult patch then they are on mind constantly. I'm a smiley, cheery person on the outside, but on the inside I feel sad for them and can't feel as happy as I would be. I'm just too sensitive at times. Anyone here the same?

My youngest child is not the happiest at the moment .This causes me endless angst ,solutions suggest themselves to me does he agree with them -No. Answer try and mind my own business and let him fix his own problems.Does this calm me down? -No. What to do ? Trust that time and fate will take their course and solutions will present themselves that neither of us thought about .,the path through life is like a jigsaw the pieces will all fit together eventually until something comes along and upsets the table. We start again that's life - what else would we do follow our dreams ,nightmares around the corner.

Very much agree PP, think it is actually worse when they are adults as problems can be.

I completely agree with you paisley pattern .... this is a quote that I use with some of my friends and it is so true ... doesn't matter how old they are when they are not happy it reflects on us mums and we feel their pain too!
