Hello I just popped up to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Marian and I live in N Wales my husband was Welsh and I have been widowed nearly 5 years now. My daughter her partner and her children also live with me which I know will seem odd to many. However I also lost my son 7 years ago so we are all we have. Life can be hectic but it is certainly never dull and Christmas is a very poignant time for us but at least I get to celebrate too with young ones around. Best wishes to each and everyone

My names Marian too. I live in West wales. I grew up in Swindon Wiltshire. So I felt a kindred spirit. Where in North Wales are you? Just wondered. I fancied moving up the mountains. If you ever fancy chatting please get back to me. Thanks.

Hi Marian
I am new here too! Sorry to hear your husband past, in recent years I've had my share of deaths too including my mum and aunt and some good friends in the late part of 2014.

My daughter and granddaughter (4), live with us too. Most of my family live locally apart from a few aunts and uncles (mostly London and Sussex).

I hope you're well?

How lovely that you can celebrate with the young ones in your family. Lots of laughter and squabbles too I'm sure. Have a lovely time over the holiday. I too am looking forward to my daughter and one of my sons arriving to join us for the 25th. We will talk to our other son in Oz on Christmas Day so that wonderful. His wife spoke to me just very recently and said the temperature in the Melbourne suburb was 42 degrees! (A bit too hot for me)

Hi Marian I'm Jean,77 and live in the West Mids.Years ago we visited N. Wales often as family members had caravans in Pontlyfni.I won a goldfish at a fair in Penygroes ( spelling?) and called him Tuppence. He lived for donkeys years.
So sorry to hear you lost a son but your living arrangements sound great. My two sons live a distance away and I use Face Time on my I pad to chat to them and my two wonderful grandchildren. We will all be together for Christmas.
Have a lovely Xmas and happy new year.

I have just joined and it is nice to read the topics and comment on them, I am in my 80's a widow of 13 years, my daughter lives just a short way away from me and although she works she phones and visits me regularly. Merry Christmas to all.

How clever of you Jonjo to have master the webb site. I am still slightly confused but will read the instructions again and soon get the hang of it. It's a good idea I think and brings us oldies together. I'm like you in my 80's and am very lucky to have my husband to natter to about our general day to day things. I enjoy stitching and making cross stitch Christmas cards was quite a new venture for me although I have always had a project of sorts on the go. I wonder if you enjoy knitting or whatever? Do hope you enjoy a happy day on 25th.
