Wow the similarities between you and me, !! I have had border collies, that's why they called me two dogs, they came everywhere with me, I will put a couple of pics on later,. my dog was named Boogie, from a book I had just read. ( 500 mile walkies by Mark Wallington) I had just had him as a pup,. read the book, and decided to follow the author on the South West coast path, Minehead to Poole via lands end, as you will probably know how I felt, I just wanted to get away from people, telephones, official envelopes, traffic,. and society in general !!,. and try to achieve some kind of piece of mind, which I eventually did. if you read,. google the book, its very funny and is in a day to day diary format of what happens to them both en route !
lol at that copper recognising you,, you must have give him some grief !

ok will go try and put another pic on.

Thanks for the reply Dollie, and you too Lionel, sorry for calling you Nigel ? aaw I still have my c.b.too, an old communicater but it still works fine, it has a p.a switch on it, so I fitted a loudspeaker underneath the front grille, and had loads of fun playing the Laurel & Hardy theme music ( cuckoo waltz ) on a cd and usually keyed the mike so the music came outside. lol mostly when two ladies were walking across a zebra crossing I had pulled up at. most of them smiled ! but not all, but the faces of the other drivers at the crossing were a sight to behold,
anyway Lionel have put some pics on but they are waiting for approval, do your dogs like water ? as most collies don't, mine didn't at first but walking from Minehead to Lands End across very beach and stream they soon learnt to, I could never keep them out of the water since ... ok ten ten till we meet again.

Hi Lionel I have just walked in. have been to work today, South Normanton and then over to New Mills in the high peak district near Stockport etc.,, aaw yes my Border collie used to roll in stuff, I think its a male thing ? as the bitch ( his daughter ) didn't ever do it, I think they like to smell tough to other dogs lol, it was when he had rolled in a particular evil smelling cow pat that I taught him to swim, I just thought you aint getting in a small back packing tent with me in that condition, so I picked him up and carried him into the sea to about waist height and dropped him , of course he had to swim out,. shook himself then came straight back into the water and from that moment on he swam everywhere with me. but it never stopped him rolling lol. I have a pic of him swimming with me in the river Barle at Simonsbath ( Exmoor ) so I will put it on. ok better get some tea on now.!
