Hello from France

Just found you and thought it would be good to join in. I live, with my husband, in France. We have been here for 18 years. Initially in Ariege, south of Toulouse, for 10 years where we had a smallholding. Grew our own veg. Reared our own animals and lived the good life! Then we moved here, near Mont de Marsan south of Bordeaux. Now hoping to sell, market not good though, as we need to have somewhere smaller with less garden. Tempted to relocate to UK, Somerset, near to son and family. Other son is in New Zealand so need to visit there from time to time. Looking forward to getting to know you and finding my way around the site, there looks to be a wealth of information on here.

Hello Deemar, I joined this site last year and agree there is a lot to take in. I have not been very active on the site, but really enjoy looking round it when I take time.
It sounds like you have had a busy time in France. Having a small holding sounds idyllic, but being a farmers daughter, I know that it is very hard work!
Being beside family is a bonus. My daughter lives near to me (5min walk) and my son is 30 mins by car.
Good luck with your sale and relocating.

Hi there,
Your post is 2 years old now but I was wondering whether you had stayed in France? I live in the Lakes but am getting worn down by the constant cold and dark and wet mornings and am considering a move to southern France. Has it worked out for you there? Any pitfalls or encouragement?
Best wishes
Sian
