HELP PLEASE re Ford Fiesta 2008 - accelerator pedal

If I can ask for some bodies help please. I have noticed today cleaning my car that a metal plate has popped up under the accelerator pedal and I cannot press is down very much. I will try and attach a photo, if any one has any ideas as to what this is and what I need to do. I may have to go to a garage but want to avoid the costs just before Christmas. Thank you so much, and Seasons Greetings to everyone

Very sound advice. I recently had to sell my Vauxhall, Design, 1900 Diesel Automatic, because despite just doing four thousand miles a year, the road tax has considerable rising to £300 pounds a year.

I've purchased a two year old ford Fiesta as a run around in my twilight years I hope I haven't purchased a 'pig in a poke Vehicle'.

Thank you for being informative and most interesting. Despite my age I've never had a lot to do with garages as all my cars have been company owned, and providing the company delivered my car back to me in good working order I paid little notice, unfortunately I wished that had listened more to my delivery driver because now have to learn the hard way.
