Hi from a newcomer

Hi, I am a 75 year old widower, bored to tears in yet another lockdown.

Desperately waiting for my covid19 jab and for the pubs to reopen so I can get some sort of a life.

In the meantime, saw this site and joined to maybe engage a bit with the outside world before I turn into a vegetable.

Hello everybody.

Hi, I will be 69 in November and a widow of of 14 years. I have been vaccinated and made up my mind to live my life (what is left of it) maskless unless mandated in place of business. I have a wonderful family but they cannot even imagine the loneliness and boredom of losing a partner of 38 years. A confidante, a friend, someone you can chat with without reason: just the sake of sharing your thoughts and soul. I really feel where you are coming from! Hang in there, still a lot of good people out there, for now anyway. And by the way, you are not once upon a time! we have a ways to go! My dad will be 94 this July and his mother lived one month shy of 93!

Hi there ! You sound like a lot of us. I'm currently on my 3rd full lock down and fed up doesn't begin to describe it. . Don't know when we'll be getting our vaccinations as every part of the country seems to be different. In the meantime, my garden birds are so full they can hardly fly, my home delivery clinks when it is delivered and I will have a whole new wardrobe of dubious home sewn and knitted garments ! My Kindle is on fire from all the reading and my sleep pattern has gone out the window!
Pass the bottle !

Chuckle - yes, guess there are a few more of us feeling the same way. and reaching for the bottle. I found it a lot easier in the summer with a bit of gardening and more motivation to get outside a bit. I have a few indoor solitary hobbies but don't always feel motivated. Don't think I will take up knitting though!! Sleep patterns seem to take a hit with a lot of us, guess it is something to do with a lack of mental and physical activity in my case. I really miss the pub and the opportunity for a bit of a social life and a good natter with other people. Hey ho, hopefully things will be better by the Spring.
