Hi from Canada!

I've just joined this forum. I live in Alberta, Canada where we have very cold Winters but lots of sunshine. I've travelled quite a bit and I've lived in UK, France, Angola and Canada. I'm only a few years off retirement and I am looking to meet people with similar life experiences. I'm agnostic, I am interested in art, travel, the great outdoors and a good book. I am not a hippy but I am tired of the consumerist world we live in where we are constantly force-fed commercials every 5 mins (if you live in North America, you will know what I mean). I am also disheartened by all political parties as they only give us the illusion that we have a say on how countries are governed and I am particularly very saddened by recent events in the US that are dragging the country back 70 years into the past. I am recently divorced (not looking to make THAT mistake again 🙂 ), I am a positive person, I don't like to whinge and I think life is too short to waste time feeling sorry for yourself. Looking forward to striking up a good conversation 🙂

Hi there. I know what you mean regarding the current state of the US. This is very unfortunate. I wish more people had common sense.

Hi, it would be interesting to chat with you. We have just come back from Alberta, travelled round, up north to Valleyview for relations, Edmonton, jasper, Banff, Calgary, Vegreville and lots lovely small places inbetween. Beautiful state, so different from B.C. Hope to be back again in future. I like to travel, read and watch a little TV specially NCIS. Would enjoy chatting if you are interested.

Hi Euromutt,

I know Alberta reasonably well as my ex wife's parents lived in Edmonton and I travelled often with and without her to visit them and to travel to one or two towns and cities between 1992 and 2004, we divorced in 2006 and I haven't been back to Edmonton since

It would be lovely to hear from you some time

G'day Euromutt (strange name for one from Canada!) I'd like to join this 'conversation' if I may, with an opinion from someone who now lives in the wide, brown land down under, but has also lived elsewhere (Mediterranean, Asia and Europe). I also share very similar views to the other posters: religion, politics, consumerism, cynicism yet positivity.

Looking forward to hearing again.

Cheers,
Ding

Hi Euromutt,
Welcome to Silversurfers. I'm sure that you will find lots on the site of interest and we will look forward to hearing about things from a Canadian point of view.
