Housing safety

I like to hear from others what there concern is with living alone in family home. Do you feel safe with steps, and driving? Is home getting harder to maintain?

This question entirely depends on the individual circumstances ,personally speaking I have recently moved to a bungalow as I was struggling using the stairs due to a foot problem.Stay safe.

One goes through stages the older on gets . My wife and I are in our late 70s and moved some 2 years ago from a large multi bedroomed flat in the centre of a small country town in Perthshire . The stairs were a barrier for her being isolated for some three months . We moved to a delightful sheltered end terrace cottage with small garden, car port and high insulation level . Only problem was the height of the fitments in kitchen and bathroom - designed for wheel chair access but not suitable for any one above average height . Our maintenance charge covers grass cutting and edging as well as salting pavements and accesses. Multiple service callers ranging from a fish and chip van to a butcher and fish van . Different world !
