International Women's Day - What does it mean to you?

What does this mean to you? I think men and women need to work together to solve the problems faced by women and men. Equality means so much more than equal opportunities and equal pay. Vacancies should be filled by the best person for the job. World wide women face issues that need us all to come together to enable positive changes to be made.

Goodness Littleminx, me venomous! I think you possibly take the biscuit there...wow what a wolf in sheep clothing you have been, letting people open their hearts to you and then attacking them.

Your views and statistics of men are exactly why I feel ashamed of my own gender, women are certainly not sweet and innocent and are slowly but surely destroying men, decent me at that.

Any subjects/posts are here to be discussed but they do not warrant personal attack, but feel free to back bite if you so wish. Perhaps a time for reflection for you,

I wonder why there are over two million single parents in this country today!! Women want it all and they want it now but lets git rid of the men a.s.a.p.
So called equality, feminism etc., is the downfall of society, thousands of men are maybe not around in the physical sense because the mother will have done her utmost to sever ties, cast the dad out, (apart from when it comes to financial matters of course)
Or there are those who have the father dangling like a puppet on a string, do this, do that, give me this, give me that OR, your not seeing your child.
Unless people have had in depth experience of organisations like 'fathers for justice' you cannot even begin to believe what probably a million and a half of these 2 million women are capable of.
Personally I am ashamed of my own gender.

It may surprise you Geogie Girl to realise there a lot of women out there that are not mothers but nevertheless are subject to the same inequalities, are they to be ignored?

I am not ashamed of my own gender as not all women are manipulative mothers holding men to ransom. The same as not all men are sexist and believe women to be inferior. I think a number of us are just asking for a gender neutral society where no one is discriminated against because of gender but recognised for what they can offer society.

I always think about domestic abuse and wonder how many men would batter their women if the woman was a 16 stone boxer...none...they are cowards

Wilf, domestic abuse isn't just about physical abuse, psychological abuse can be just as damaging regardless of gender.

This is clearly a very emotive subject but for two ladies to be so unkind to each other does nothing to premote equality .My point was that women and men need to work together on issues after all it was called International Women's Day but the issues effect both genders .

Vacancies should be filled by the best person for the job.

If that was brought in as a policy the manure would hit the fan, men and women are different, they have different skills which are not always apparently equal, but in my lifetime I have seen too much forced equality ----- not to the benefit of all .

That's true ArchieUK, I've yet to meet a man who is able to give birth so you are right, we will never be truly equal!
