Jan 31st Brexit - was it a good idea to leave the EU?

Well, we are finally leaving tonight at 23.00. I never wanted to go.

The world has 3 huge Trading Blocs-USA, China, EU. None are bothered about little old UK.

We may get trade deals eventually but Trump doesn't care about us, The Chinese have their own agenda and we have just left the EU.

Was it a good idea to go? Only time will tell!

No. It wasn’t. It’s appalling.

Thanks, Lionel and some good points. In the 70s perhaps both us and the French were sick-so was the whole of Eastern Europe, South Europe-The PIGS etc etc. In fact, it was only Germany and Switzerland that were booming. The Swiss are very very very clever-no wars in 700 years and neutral=smart. My worry is there are 3 huge trading blocks. Forget USA they have their own issues, -we are tiny compared to China and Japan with our economy. So where is the "brave new world"-Russia-forget it. Africa-No that is trading with China, Oz and NZ...we let them down once and they are now "Asian" trading nations. Its the Rise and Fall of The Great Powers-we are descending and I worry this will hasten our demise!
