Just joined and looking for like minded friends
Watch this postHave you ever just had a spur of the moment impulse and then sat back and wondered what are you doing and more importantly what do I do from here!!! How do you describe yourself to people you don’t know, what will they want to know or what do I want them to know? Will they be interested enough to respond, how will I feel if nobody responds?!!! Enough with the questions I guess you have all thought the same thing,I Hope!! Here goes in at the deep end!!
I like swimming in the sea by the way, everyone calls it wild swimming these days! I am a retired lady living on my own. I have recently moved to Somerset into a little village near the sea. I have been busy renovating a cottage, making friends in the village, having a go at paddle boarding, sailing, golf, walking and anything else that interests me.
I have a small close-knit family and a few close long term friends. I’m always looking to extend friendships to enhance life and open to new knowledge and experiences. I love to be in nature and have found it very calming through life’s ups and downs and our enforced lockdowns.
I don’t know a lot about art and classical music so they are ambitions to fulfil. I enjoy reading including listening to podcasts. I play online MahJong and scrabble. I like to knit, sew and am a keen gardener. I would like to explore more of the UK when we are able.
Hope there is someone reading this that might like to reach out to an online friend.

Your little cottage and location sounds a dream, I hope the move brings you a lot of friends and happiness.
I live much further north, just outside Sheffield, so the contrast from your area is quite considerable, though I do have a largish garden with fruit trees and a few chickens.
I hope you get lots of replies.
Ive been thinking about an electric bike as there are a lot of hills around here but haven’t had a go at riding a bike for some time.
It has been a bit scary at times sorting out the cottage on my own but have found some good trades people to help when couldn’t do it myself. I only have a small courtyard attached to the cottage but have a very kind neighbour that has let me use a bit of their orchard to grow veg. It was a bit of a wilderness but have managed to grow a few things last year. I love the idea of chickens maybe at a later date when the dust settles a bit. The fruit trees are all in blossom so maybe will get some plums also discovered an old fig tree.
I guess your garden comes into action a bit later than mine as it must be colder where you are.
Where do you ride on your bike are you in the country side? Have you got a basket on the front, as you can tell building a mental picture of you out and about!
Not sure the correct way to sign off for now so best wishes from Somerset, Zazz (its a family nickname)
