Is lack of relaxation damaging our health?
Watch this postRecently, I heard a programme on the radio, the gist was that constant background noise pollution can damage your health and even shorten your life. It simply isn't relaxing that's for sure. I can remember being at boarding school in Kent, ages ago of course and it was just silent at night and at times during the day, not even aircraft. It is very difficult to find peace and quiet these days.

I think people are scared of peace. Why?Because they don't like to face their thoughts.Anything.....from phone addiction, too much time spent on laptops, blasting their ears with music, watching tv.....people are afraid to sit still and do nothing. You can control your inside noise within your own home, but unfortunately have little to no control what noise goes on outside your home.
at 67, nearly 68, i am a motorbike rider, old guy, old motorbike - it's not like a car, you are out in the open, smelling smells and tipping about on bends, makes you feel like you are 16 again and a great form of 'escape'
escape from jobs i should be doing but also just the sheer row at weekend, the flying club is in full swing, the estate is jammed up with motors, often poorly parked...ironic that i make a nuisance of myself riding around in the countryside, villages and small towns then.
one thing 'bikers' do is wear ear plugs, they don'y totally cut noise but damp it, the idea is to protect the rider from wind noise at speed, on a motorway for example - anyway i sometimes use these just in the garden to help give a bit of quiet.
