Linking up online.

In need of challenging conversations, that will take me outside of the ordinary, spectrum of things. Interest include creative writing, reading, music, politics(radical leftie) plus, so in need of fiery contributions that will start my synapses jumping. Any suggestions...?

Hi. Unusual to find grown up words on a forum: well done. My hobby is travel and I write a blog after each trip. I try to use history as a base for the itinerary narrative. For the last five years it has been mainly South America. Anyway if you find anything of interest I can help out with travel advice:

Send me anything you have written: ideally not a panagyric about Jeremy C.

What do you mean by, 'grown up words' and why is it 'unusual' on a forum for OAP's?

Who was that said 'music hath charms to sooth the savage breast?' I don't think it was Russel Brand, or Jonathan Ross, probably that bloke from Stratford-on-Avon?
Music can calm, sooth, or inspire people to great deeds, or sadly, violence.

I would like to talk about music - classical music I enjoy most - but can talk about any kind of music and how it affects you. Wondering if you ever listen to music solely by itself without doing anything while you are listening. If you ever think of music as affecting your body and your psyche. If you ever think about music as healing medicine for your body and spirit. Music in the time of Pythagoras was almost always treated like medicine and like now we get a prescription for a pill, then they would get in essence a prescription for a certain kind of music. I believe that music can solve everyday problems if you immerse yourself in it with a mind that is cleared of everything else so that it can soak into all the parts of your psyche and clean things out so to speak. I have an article I have written I could share with you called "Concert Meditation". This is my first time here so I am not sure how I get in touch with you or how I would know when you are here. But this is my topic now. dolph

You are one day ahead of me as I joined only this morning. I, too, enjoy music, and do listen as a sole interest, although I do have it on sometimes when I am reading. I find it an important part of my life as I now live alone after an amicable divorce. I look forward to finding out more about Silver Surfers generally as I enjoy a chat, something that doesn't happen all that often.
What sort of music to you enjoy? I am starting to turn away from the older composers towards the more modern ones, even though I do find some of them a little to unmelodic.
I don't know how to send this
