Living alone with poor health

I was just wondering how others cope with living alone and having chronic health issues. I have been slowly going downhill for a couple of years and the latest is a worrying development after having an MRI of my brain which has shown 'lots of abnormalities' and now a referral to Neurology for a diagnosis. Yes, i'm scared and wondering how I will cope if this downward spiral continues. I'd be grateful for others' thoughts and experiences on this please.

Many thanks for your kind words Yodama. I have atrial fibrillation for which I have been offered a cardiac ablation which I have declined.
The latest problem for which I had the brain MRI is as yet undiagnosed, but thanks to hints from my GP and Dr Google is possibly MS and I will find out definitely when I see the Neurologist.
It's quite alarming sometimes when I lose all sense of balance and am stumbling round holding onto the walls and furniture to avoid falling.
My cognitive function is also declining at an alarming rate and I just don't know how I will be able to manage if this isn't resolved.
Your suggestion of meditation is one that I should resume, having used it (well mindfulness anyway) successfully in the past.
As you astutely remarked though, the crazy monkey seems to be well and truly in charge of my mind at the moment, I think you will understand why given the circumstances.
Until I receive a diagnosis I don't think there is any help I can ask for so I must just wait until Neurology see me and that's not looking promising, as I read an article this week that there is a chronic shortage of Neurologists in the NHS and those that remain are working only 2-3 days a week so there is a possibility that my appointment in May may be cancelled.
Not knowing anything for definite makes it worse somehow, but I will try some meditation and hopefully that will make it easier.
Thanks again for your post x
