Local council funding

It was interesting to hear a representative of local councils to say that cuts in funding will affect the elderly. Is this always the first service to be reduced?

Camoron ( spelling intended) and his companion IDS have totally ruined the Care sector, Every person I speak to from local councillors to care workers , is sick and tired of cuts and taxes. It is a terrible that this govt wastes millions on illegals and the EU but would apply a punitive Bedroom Tax of those that are the most needy and vulnerable.

I agree. Sanctuary Housing want to remove the live-in warden at my mother's sheltered housing accommodation due to the Govt cutting funding called 'Supporting People', to which she has contributed, along with her rent, for 15 years! I and several other relatives will be attending a meeting to contest this. It is utterly inexcusable that the Govt is making the most vulnerable pay for what the bankers did, whilst letting them off the FCA investigation into their behaviours. Why this is was even going to be an investigation rather than a prosecution for illegal banking practice I do not know. Huge corporations, banks and companies are let off paying corporation tax but its ok to ruin life for those with the least.

Why should it? My local councils in East Anglia are sitting on a fortune in "reserves". They should
use some of this money (after all like the government, they get it from the tax-payer) to pay for social care, schools, police etc. It's not their money it's tax-payers money!!!!!!
