Looking forward to spring

I know we are about to be hit by winter weather, but I feel that spring is around the corner and it always makes me feel excited.

I am thinking about my hanging basket colours, tomatoes I intend to grow and other outside jobs that I can do.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Having moved here in June it is a delight to see the spring bulbs coming through a delightful surprise.
However dealing with a greenhouse is a new challenge for me.

Hi Happychops, you're living up to your name here,
Its nice to feel optimistic , I too start to feel much better at this time of year, like you I know there's still 4 or 5 weeks yet before it really starts off, but that doesn't seem to long to wait, especially now the evenings are drawing out,
where I am in the Hampshire area, we tend to get spring a bit earlier hear, and its great, not quite as early as Cornwall and Devon, but earlier than the mid to north of the country, we are lucky, and I know it too,
nice to speak, keep Happy....

I always love it when things spring back to life, but in saying that I do love all of the seasons we have, even when it’s cold. I don’t mind a walk as long as I am wrapped up.

Hi again Happychops, I agree with you, although not quite so keen when it goes dead for a couple of months after new year etc, but like you I love reading, mainly on my kindle, but any reading is good, and it's surprising how time fly's by when into a few good books,
is not long now though 1st March is start of spring for me lol

My reading has taken a different turn this week,I am now reading a thriller, It has me wanting to know what will happen next, but can only read on an evening after work.

Rory Clark has been my latest reads, started with, ( you done what my lord ) About a factor on some of the large estates, owned by lords. I never normally read biographies, but if they are funny, and lighthearted , I will give them a go. and his three books were certainly that.

Im always searching around Kindle books site for reads of interest, and I always download a sample before buying anything, which are cheep anyway, and they are very sample's too probably 1/10th of a book, gives a good idea whether it's worth buying.
Personally I think it's a great way to test before buying.

I really didn’t want a kindle as I thought because I wasn’t seeing the books my choices would be restricted, but it is the exact opposite. I have read hundreds of books by authors that I probably wouldn’t of looked at in a shop.
I absolutely love it. I have owned this one for several years and would be lost without it.
I use it every day.
Did anyone else think the same as me about a kindle?
Response from LeonardM8 made on 3rd Feb 2019 20:34:54
Hi Happychops, I bought a kindle as soon as they became available , I'm a bit like that with tech stuff,
I'm now on my third, because I like to update things as they get better, I still have my first one, which had a keyboard, and i't still in perfect working order.
I am now on the second generation , paper white, and oh my goodness, what a difference it is, the reading is so much easier on the eye's the storage is so much more, and with auto brightness, I could go on.
I probably haven't bought a paper back since I started using it.
I do occasionally read a book. if it's expensive, I will get it from the library , but thats all,
I have seen a few post's on other pages here from people who can't feel the same as with a book, as my wife resisted fo a few years, until her hands are getting that she can't hold a book, so even she converted over a couple of years ago..... long live the Kindle. lol

Hi Happychops. Yes I too like the idea that spring is almost upon us, the little bits of colour will be in our lives again soon, I have ideas of what I want to do, when the weather cheers up, don't always get them done, but it don't matter, feeling good about it is what matters, lol
Response from Happychops Original Poster made on 23rd Jan 2019 19:28:50
Thinking about what you would like to do cheers you up,you can plan and dream,it doesn’t matter if you get it done,as long as you enjoy thinking about it.
Response from LeonardM8 made on 23rd Jan 2019 20:35:44
I can relate to that big time lol

I feel like that as we approach the end of January. You can see the light returning at the beginning and end of each day and the first snowdrops are a joy.

Great to think about Spring Happychops and the world reawakening ! Living in the Highlands however poses its problems particularly with the weather . We were minus 9 C last night which is colder than Moscow and puts thoughts of hanging baskets on a back burner ! Compromised with pics of last years successes as a colourful background on my lap top !
Response from Happychops Original Poster made on 23rd Jan 2019 19:22:04
Minus 9 ,I couldn’t imagine it. If that was me I would be thinking about hot water bottles.lol
