Making a new home 'yours'
Watch this postI have been in my new flat for 6 months now. Where has all the time gone? Due to the extreme cold of this particular winter, I’ve felt rather reluctant up until now, to get things done. But the days are getting longer and warmer. So I will have to get started.
One frustration! Every single window is a different size! A nightmare when measuring for blinds and curtains. The living room has a beautifully elaborate central circular ceiling decoration. All fruit, flowers and vines. But there is no main light hanging from it! We have to go round, turning on standard lamps and table lamps! The house was built at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries, so is of a substantial build. It was converted into two flats, some time ago. And we have the ground floor. A ‘log cabin’ extension has been built on the back, to give us yet more living space.
But we are looking forward to putting ‘our mark’ on it.

For the past year I have been passing a lovely old house in the village of Worlington which had an enormouse statue of a dragon/gryphon near its gate - about 12 foot high including the plinth! The house changed hands last month and the trees have been pruned and the statue disappeared from view. I hope it flew off with the old owners and has a lovely new home.
The most interesting thing to see as you pass through my village is the local phone box - which is now a book exchange!
But it took quite a while to eventually realise that they weren't real, but amazingly lifelike models. And soon, they had two more happy events. This has been going on for about 5 years now. and every winter they disappear, only to return again in the spring. We always look forward to seeing them now, as we drive past.
Haven't been in for a couple of days. We've been busy clearing out my daughters old flat, ready for eventual sale.
And don't talk to me about bunnies! Everytime we drive to Stirling to go shopping. We pass by a couple of fields frequented by rabbits. And every time she sees one, my daughter yells BUNNY at the top of her voice. Practically deafening me.
BTW. I'm glad the little maths problems to get posted are simple addition! I'd be in trouble if they started using long division. . . .or algebra! 😕
