Menopause is robbing my sleep ... any tips welcome

Hello everyone - Does anyone have any tips for regular waking during the night.

I usually wake a lot and often for a couple of hours. With a full-time job this is really hard to manage - thank you in advance

I take Magnesium every night before bed.I never had issues falling asleep, staying asleep was a different story though.Since taking the tablets I've managed to sleep 8-9 hrs per night without waking.A miracle for me! 🙂

Herewith a couple of the obvious tips:
No caffeine or cigarettes after 6pm and don't overload on fluids of any kind.
Google 'sleep hygiene' and you will find lots of stuff which will repeat what follows to an extent anyway..
This concept is based around 1. how many hours do you need and 2 what time do you wish to get up.
You then establish a routine to 'reset' you biological clock/circadian rhythm.
So if you need 8 hours and have to get up at 7am? Don't go to bed before 11pm.
Beds are for sleep or 'more intimate activities' only.
No reading, no TV watching.
If you are awake after 20 minutes, get up and do a pre-planned activity that is relaxing. (Don't do your accounting at this time of night.)
You repeat this procedure regardless of what type of night you have had and then - crunch time - you get up when the alarm goes at 7am.
You will need to stick this out for a bit as it is not a 'one night fix' but there is a lot of research behind what I have written.

Good evening , I have trouble sleeping , but I have found try not have hot drinks too close to bed time , it brings on hot sweats , Peaceful music is most helpful , and if you wear anything for bed , keep it light , alot of it comes down to not being able to switch off your head , also you may find it helpful to talk abour your day ,

Hi there, I find that sleep is my vital part I need. I enjoy a bath just before bed and have the window open ajar. I also find soft music a help.

You are not alone RozzyRoo ... you may find our Menopause section in Health useful:

There is an option to ask the experts at AXA Healthcare for tips as well.
