Moving abroad when widowed

Hi  - I would just like to say the best thing I have done since losing my husband four years ago was move to Tenerife. Its' a lovely friendly island with at least 350 days of sun. The people are friendly, very little violence or anti social behaviour.  Don't be afraid to follow your dream you are tougher than you think. We have a good health system similar to NHS but different. I'm a diabetic and have no problems. If you want to ask any question you are welcome to ask.  Judysally

Hi judysally, I have just become widow as of last May. I would like to spend late autumn-winter months in Tenerife. Would it be better private rental or hotel? Very healthy lady from Essex, speaks good Spanish. Many thanks

hi, judysally,
You've done my dream, I have for many years said I would retire to spain, as being so close to the uk, and so many flights is just so easy, ive heard the health system is similar to ours, my concern would be I am a long ( very ) term ha tenant so would have to rent, and am I little apprehensive that I wouldn't have the long term home that I would like, but I live in hope, how are you finding the transition? I would think its a lot easier to make friends due to being a outdoor life,
