My brain hurts

Do you ever lie awake at night, trying to find answers to questions that just won't go away? For instance'

1 When Christopher Columbus set off on his epic voyage, where did he think he was going, and when he got there, where did he think he was, and after arriving home, where did he think he had been?

2 If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

3 Why, at the end of a party is there always a tearful girl?

4 Why is having 2 shoes synonymous with being good?

5 Why is the alphabet in that order?

6 Are Zebra crossings white and black, or black and white?

7 Did anyone ever try to find a needle in a haystack?

8 Do dead people actually know they are dead?

9 How do religious people KNOW that god is real?

10 How do Eskimos get their 5 a day?

Feel free to add your own brain-aches.

Also, why do tv presenters always say 'welcome back' after an ad break? It's them that went away, not me!

And, what's so good about bees knees?

Why do you never see baby pigeons, and where do frogs go in winter?
Response from Mollflanders made on 2nd Oct 2016 15:44:04
Actually Anf, they're saying welcome back to me after a break as I always either go to the loo, make a cuppa or switch over to see if anything is better on the other side.

That's a bit scary when you think about it Mollflanders!! For them to be aware that you've been away they must be spying on you. Check your house for hidden cameras 🙂

Oh no! Never thought of that. NB Must change this frock.

Ooh crikey, Yodama - I have got a strange mind as I could read both paragraphs easily! 🙂
Response from CaroleAH made on 11th Sep 2018 10:42:23
Prefer to think that we are able to think "outside of the box" instead of being strange - no doubt our friends might think otherwise !!! 🙂

Good grief! Now I know why I'm not on Facebook - apart from the fact that my daughters think that I would stalk them!!! 🙂

That's twice in two different places I've read that.... cor... I must be one of the 55 people that can. And no, I don't follow my kids on facebook…. I'm too tied up doing my own thing - they're boring!
Response from Hannelore made on 27th Apr 2019 13:12:37
Wow Yodama,
that is exiting and funny too. I can read it,... so there is no danger that I'm getting nuts or Alzheimer is hitting me. I guess there are a lot of games or training to keep your brain fit. Learning a language and keeping it is also very good. As you go to the gym and train your body, just to make sure, that you can put on your shoes without help. we should work out our head. I am 69 now and hope to stay fit as long as possible.

I think the answer to number 2 is a load of balls :). One I would add is 'How do we know which way up the world is?'
Response from celtwitch Original Poster made on 2nd Oct 2016 14:05:26
It doesn't matter, if it did Australians would fall off, wouldn't they?

No Celtwitch, that's just you. I go to bed and try and dream of a tall dark handsome guy (a rich one would be acceptable) who is going to sweep me off my feet. Whilst I'm still on them that is and before I have to use a walking frame. 🙂

I think the answer to number 4 is that if you lose a shoe and have one, you have more than likely been up to know good.
