Need a new camera - any advice?
Watch this postHi all you lovely talented silversurfer photographers, I've had to send my camera back for a refund as it's been playing up for a wee while and I'm now looking for a new one but I'm undecided what to go for so if any of you have one that you would recommend I'd be grateful for any advice.

I suppose it all depends on what you want the camera for i.e. just point & shoot or something a bit more sophisticated. I've got a Canon EOS 1100D which I love and it takes some super photos but it is quite large and heavy. I've recently bought (From Ebay) a Panasonic Lumix TV60 which is a small, fit in your pocket/handbag, sized camera which has the advantage of having a viewfinder. Many of the small cameras are difficult to use when it's sunny because you can't always see the image on the screen in enough detail. The viewfinder makes this possible and, so far, I'm really pleased with the camera. It has got lots of features which I haven't used yet but also has an "intelligent auto" mode which means I don't have to think about F stops, ISO speeds etc. If you have a local Camera Club in your area or a U3A Photography group they would be more than willing to give you loads of advice.
