Need new friends and someone to talk to

Hi everyone, I am Kaz. I am 58 years of age, and I am alone with no friends or family now, and I live and work from home in a small rural farming area where I cannot seem to make any friends, I feel out of it as everyone seems hostile and in families or couples and there are no social activities you can go to alone where I fit in. I am lonely, and thinking of moving to start a new life in an area where I can meet new friends, not easy to do because I know no one any any other areas of the UK now, so not sure where a good place to move to is. I presently live in a large 4 bedroom house which is too big for just me, can't find anyone nice to share it with. Is there anyone out there who wants a good genuine and caring friend to share good conversation with and quality time with? My interests are, art, cooking, writing, travel, dining out, swimming, cycling, driving, internet, web design, social networking, electronic art, music, astrology, design, home making, intelligent conversation, philosophy, current affairs, good causes, entertaining, acting, poetry. I am very laid back and easy going, a people person, good sense of humour, caring, compassionate, altruistic, reliable, honest.... I am on Skype and good on a computer. I live in Rufford in Lancashire (near to Southport and Chorley) at present. Kindest Regards and Hi to everyone! Kaz XX

Hi Kazz, I'm soon to be 58 (Easter Saturday). I have very few friends. It is surprising how many of us there are. I am lucky in so far as I have a partner, 3 children and 3 grandchildren (who all keep me busy), also I have 1 brother and 3 sisters and I work in an office (all men save for one of the joint owners who obviously is a lady. The owners are both younger than me i.e. not much older than my oldest daughter. My ex made sure I didn't get too close to other people and I got out of the habit of being friends with women of my own age. I felt more lonely in my marriage than the 4 years I spent just me and my youngest daughter. You have a wide range of interests. Are there any groups you could join? Unfortunately I am in the south but should you wish to pm me, I would be happy to talk.
Good luck.

Hi Kaz, I too are pretty lonely. I moved with my husband to Norfolk 2 years ago. It is beautiful here we are out in the country. Have made a few friends here but I long to find a close friend. I understand what you mean about everyone, the locals have their own friends. If you want to pm me we could perhaps chat more. Jaz xx

Hi Woo,
Thanks for your kind reply.
No social groups anywhere around where I live, and doing stuff isn't fun alone, it is a dreadful way to have to live, it is more of an existence than a life.
Glad to hear you have some company and work too.
