Neil Sedaka

Went to see Neil Sedaka in concert last night at the Sage in Gateshead. He was fantastic and, in spite of his age and stoop as he walked off-stage, sounded and looked like he always did back in the day.

. Yodama. You've just transported me back to 17 with those song titles. Neil Sedaka loved him.

Same here Yodama, won't be seeing him in live concert but saw him last week on BBC one show, sounded just the same as the oh carol days. The good old days when songs seem to always have a meaning. Have seen Cliff several times and Diana Ross in live concert and have to admit have seen Jonny Mathis more times than I care to remember. Since my husband passed away concert going is now not for me. By the way still have stored away Neil Sedaka 45s vinyl stored away.

Hi Yodama. Yep still have quite a collection of vinyl unfortunately nothing to play them on now. My late husband replaced most of my Mathis Lps with cds but I couldn't throw vinyls out. (Gosh he'd be amazed to know vinyl was making a comeback). Still have his collection of Bob Dylan, not quite my taste but just can't get rid of them. In a moment of madness my husband bought a second hand copy of Johnny's Ole' for me, cost a fortune but really only wanted the cover sleeve which is beautiful. Glad you. If you can find it have a listen to Johnny singing how do you keep the music playing. Without sounding morbid I'd always said play that at my funeral, sadly it was the other way around. Just like Misty it's lovely and brings a tear to the eye.

Not just his Bob Dylan collection but also about 50 Dylan books including the sort after copy of Tarantula. Can't make top nor tail of it myself but there you go each to his own. Must admit I'd often say "oh I love that song" and my husband would take great delight in saying "well guess who wrote that Bob Dylan". Yep certainly need more room would'nt dare get rid of them.

I went to see Beautiful at the Aldwych a few months back , and was surprised that a cast member or ensemble as its used today, sang Oh Carol at the beginning of this Carol King musical the bloke was spitting image of Neil Sedaka
