New member in Hampshire looking for friendship and advice

Hi. I am in my early 50s, live in Hampshire (near Basingstoke) and am recently single and feeling a bit lost.


Most of my friends are couples and although I do see some of them during the week, the weekends seem to be their 'couple' time and I am started to really dread the weekends since I just don't know what to do with myself!


I work from home so don't meet people through work and a long lonely future seems to be stretching ahead of me so I need to get out there and meet new friends and find new things to do in my life - I just don't know where to start.


Does anyone have any advice for me?

Hi Debbie and welcome to the site, I hope that you find some people to chat with on here. As to meeting new friends have you considered joining www.meetup.com'? I am sure that there would be plenty of meetup groups in your local area? John
