New to group
Watch this postHi everyone I’ve just joined and hoping to meet some new friends in a similar situation to me.
I’m 54 and recently lost my husband to cancer.
Finding being on my own and evenings in particular so hard.
I don’t have a big family and I’m not sure whether to relocate near to them or stay in the home I shared with my hubby.

Nurturing a safe environment
Our Silversurfers community is designed to foster friendships, based on trust, honesty, integrity and loyalty and is underpinned by these values.
We don't tolerate swearing, and reserve the right to remove any posts which we feel may offend others... let's keep it friendly!
Think carefully about relocating, even if it is closer to family, if you have really good friends around you now then take the time to see how you can build a life by staying put. One of the best things I can say is to get involved in your community. Join clubs, volunteer etc. By doing this, you will meet new people, enjoy new experiences and it will help to stave off the loneliness.
I hope this helps, and I wish you all the very best for your future.
