Watch this postI have just joined and am finding my way around the site I am a 70 year old widow. I have two daughters but they have their own families so I do not often see them. I am interested in gardening and walking. I have a little dog but I find life very lonely and would love to chat on line. I live in Northumberland but rarely see anyone - Dominoone

Like many of the others would enjoy chatting/ meeting new friends.
I have 4 little dogs who need walking but unfortunately they like me have become housebound. As they are elderly they do not seem to mind much. You could say we are a very geriatric household. In doggy years they are my age. I would love to chat on line as I do not see anyone for 98% of the week and am losing my ability to hold a decent conversation. I also find that my memory is getting worse as I spend so much time on my own just watching tv.
I am 72 years young have a grown up family with families of their own all spread around the country and the world, so do not see them very often.
I thought joining would help me make new friends
I used to own a retired racing greyhound but he died shortly after my husbands death. I thought of having a dog of my own but would find losing it to traumatic so instead I joined Barking mad.This means if the owner does not want their dog to go into kennels while they are on holiday I host it.This means I get company and an excuse to go out.

So sorry to hear your family has deserted you. I take care of my husband who has Parkinsons Disease. We don't go out much or socialize. It can get lonely. That is so sad you don't have a dog anymore. I have three little dogs and one elderly cat. I live in the US and not sure where you live? You can leave me messages in private chat and I will leave you messages then one day maybe we will actually talk one day! Lisa
