Poppy Selling

My local branch of Royal British Legion advertised for help selling poppies in a local 'superstore' and I volunteered four year ago and I have not regretted it for one moment. We share the time into blocks of 3 hours two people together and different times of the day, I met again friends and neighbours long lost and become close to other 'poppy' sellers. The public are so generous for the very worthwhile charity and I'm proud to help if only in a small way. Does anyone else help in this way?

Good for you Molls. I don't help out selling the poppies, but I do like the Remembrance Sunday parade, which is just around the corner from me. A service in the park first, and then the road is closed for the procession of the brass band, scouts, soldiers, ministers etc. It will be even more special this year as my 14 year old grandson will be marching with them in his army cadets uniform...tissues will be required.
