Seeking clip-in pedal recommendations

Looking for some clip in recommendations for a soon to be first timer. Based on initial research selection seems to be personal preference, but looking for some direction.

Ride is a 93 Moser SLX Team, would like to get something in-keeping with the era, but am ultimately looking for functionality over appearance. Initial thoughts were some second hand Look Keo 2s 6’ 200lbs (90kgs) any advice appreciated

After falling over 3 times because of the wretched foot-prisons, I went back to toe-clips. Good luck

I use look keos, but depends what type of riding you do. For my road bike i have look, for my gravel bike i have spds. For my touring bike i use platforms. So its a matter of convenience, many use spds because they are easy to walk with, I find that keos have a larger platform and are much more comfortable for long distances. You shoild start doing short rides just unclipping and clipping to practice. what happens to most at beginning is that they forget to unclip on time and thus they fall on a dead stop. good luck!

You can get spd pedals with one side spd and the other ordinary flat pedal. Just a note about spd pedals -- you may fall off when at or near a standstill because of the time or forgetting to unclip your foot/feet.

Sod sl pedals would look good. Double sided and very easy to clip in and out of. Nice looking bike! Enjoy.
