Self Isolation - are you worried?

We are worried about Self Isolation - I have a number of questions?

How do you get shopping-what about going to the doctors?

How do we get essentials?

None of these have been covered by Boris and his friends.

They should put up a website that tells us older folk what we should be doing.

What happens if I get a home delivery?...should I then wash my hands as the deliverer may have Coronavirus?

The questions go on and on

I have never stockpiled, it is a selfish thing to do Today I saw two bottles of hand wash left on the selves so I took one as I am running out, there were no antibacterial wipes, toilet paper which thankfully I didn`t need or tins of beans which I did need. I wish people would not take more than they need then there would be no shortages of anything. I also have good neighbours and we all have each others phone numbers. So it`s a matter of putting help in place if it`s required without coming into contact.

It's a very tricky situation as we are being told to be prepared to self isolate if necessary, so we need a stock of supplies in case we have to suddenly stay at home so I do understand why people feel the need to have enough supplies ...

Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well Enchanted7Dandelion. One of our daughters is a teacher and she is woried by all this and also worried for the kids. Teachers have the most importent jobs in the world and should be recognised as such.

I suffer with anxiety and agoraphobia, so don't leave the house much.
When it came to booking my usual grocery delivery, all the time slots were full.
When I eventually got my shopping, I only had about three quarters of it.
I have no toilet roll, no bleach and no bottled water.

To all those who are selfishly stock piling in order to self isolate, please consider your less abled neighbours.

I had a Tescos delivery yesterday and was expecting subsitutions and out of stock items, but to my utter suprise, all was in order ... I usually shop with Ocado and I couldn't get a slot for over a week, and the Ocado website keeps crashing ...

I have offered to add shopping for my neighbours to my next delivery if they can't cope with the supermarket hysteria. I keep telling my grown up children think back to the war when there was rationing and coupons and no supermarkets!

I think once all the loo rolls etc have been stocked up in the next week everything should be available again. Its good that we all can chat on here.

I’ve had a similar situation with my GP surgery. They are insisting that I go to the always overcrowded main branch for a routine blood test at peak time on Monday morning or I can’t have my regular prescription for raises blood pressure.
I’m really well but over sixty and asked if it could be postponed as I don’t really want to expose myself to the possibility of picking anything up from other patients at this time. No chance, it’s turn up or forgo essential medication. I find this attitude difficult to understand.
