I make 'rainbow ' tea! Its yorkshire tea (black), green tea, white tea, and red bush! I tear open the horrid plasticky tea bags, then mix one part each of green white and red to 3 parts black, keep this in a vintage caddy, then make my tea using an old fashioned tiny tea pot, complete with a cosy, use a strainer, and china cup! I'm getting the benefit of the other teas, but it tastes just like ordinary tea, realy, and makes the drink seem more special.

I like earl grey mixed with breakfast tea, made in a small china tea pot and then strained into a china mug.

Yes please! A nice cup of Yorkshire tea - tea poured in first not the milk. Has to taste like tea but not strong enough to leave a taste in my mouth after drinking it. Just a thought - why does tea always taste so much better when you are drinking it outside admiring a wonderful vista? ๐Ÿ™‚
Response from georgesmum made on 22nd Jul 2019 17:23:26
And from a China cup of Course!
Response from CaroleAH made on 22nd Jul 2019 17:31:03
Ah well, Georgesmum, that is where I let the side down because I actually prefer a china mug!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
Response from TriciaK1 made on 22nd Jul 2019 20:17:08
I like a china mug as well CaroleAH but I have milk in first!!
Response from LordoftheTeapot Original Poster made on 23rd Jul 2019 11:16:53
** Hands CaroleAH a cup of tea as requested **

Milk should always go in the cup first, it's traditional. Stops the china cup from cracking due to the heat of the tea
Response from CaroleAH made on 23rd Jul 2019 13:45:43
According to the Yorkshire Tea website we are all either Miffys (milk first) or Tiffys (tea first) ๐Ÿ™‚ Think I shall have to remain a Tiffy as I like to see the colour of the tea first before adding my milk. Yorkshire Tea also recommend infusing the tea for at least 4 minutes - that, according to my Dad, would be like coffin polish!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
Response from LordoftheTeapot Original Poster made on 30th Jul 2019 09:57:26
Infusion times vary according to the type of tea and to personal taste.
