Temperature

The temperature has dropped and I have had to put my heating on before the end of the month - have you?

I don't put mine on till December, later if it's mild, I haven't felt cold yet this autumn.

We have a different policy. It goes on fairly early when the temperature starts to drop, but at a low level. Then we increase it or decrease it as the weather seems to indicate.

Mind you, I do light a candle if there is a nip in the air (have the Japanese put a man in space?) and even 2 candles if it's particularly nippy! I keep adding candles as the temperature drops, you would be surprised how much heat they kick out. By the time December comes around my living room resembles a Catholic church immediately following the death of a Pope!

Cardigans and jumpers first, if that doesnt work the heating will go on, it doesnt take long before I feel as though I am suffocating and have to turn it off, I live in a well insulated place.

We do not have closed season for the heating in our house but work on a day by day basis, if we are warm enough it stays off other to that it goes on.
We also work on a manual system, some radiators rarely go on, those in the bed rooms and box room in particular, the one in the sitting room is often shut off a hour or more before retiring and the room in general keeps warm.
We live in a warm house that is because we have insulation, insulation, insulation.
