Water workers

I'm wondering if anyone thinks, like me that those men and women who work to provide us with clean, fresh water every minute of every day, both to our homes and below ground, deserve a HUGE vote of thanks.

Everything we eat, drink, or use depends initially on water. How else would we wash our hands, as instructed at the moment, and we wouldn't have the NHS if there was no one to supply fresh, clean water.

THANK YOU to all water workers, I hope life will be kind to you.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you. There are so many people working to keep our essential services going - water, sewage, electricity, gas, refuse collecting, and so on. All risking their health being out there doing there jobs as usual. Like NHS workers & carers, they deserve much more than a weekly clap, but maybe after this crisis the general public might remember and appreciate the "invisible" core workforce better than we did before.

Thanks Ann, I work for Northumbrian Water up in Co. Durham and all our crews are working hard to keep things flowing and clearing blockages. Even the people in the office, as I am, have been working at home now for 6 weeks. No one person has lost their job or been furloughed and the 100 odd members of staff who can't work from home have either been retrained to help in the field or the company is paying their salaries and they are volunteering for the NHS and other groups needing help. Its a great company to work for in so many ways.

Horror!! I DO know the difference between "there" and "their", honest! It was the dreaded auto-correct or whatever it is that takes a typo and turns it into a real howler....
