What will you be doing to keep yourself busy if you are self-isolating?

So many of us say 'there is never enough time in the day' or 'It's crazy how fast time flies' - we will all now find that we have more time on our hands than usual - how will you be spending your time over the coming weeks?

I will be gardening and playing as much golf as my wife will let me. I am worried most of all about our children. We have also started playing lots of games of chess again.

Bought seeds, pots and potting soil and am playing at gardening, veggies as well as ornamentals. How can life be boring if you're waiting for seeds to sprout. Nice thing to look forward to.

Thanks. I'll do that. I've really enjoyed some of your games. Good brain exercise.

Have given myself a to do list which I am allowing myself to take time in doing the tasks. Along with the least appealing tasks I have added enjoyable activities.
So I have taken up Yoga (youtube), meditation, daily walk with my old fashioned binoculars (but hey who cares) LOL. Noticing an abundance of things that have been here years but never taken the time to observe.

On one of my walks came across an allotment and made a couple of new friends one of whom has invited me to a picnic in the summer. He has an idyllic spot down by the riverside where kingfishers and woodpeckers reside. So there you go good does come from bad sometimes.

Also practising bridge, completing jigsaws, playing spider solitaire all on line.

Then of course in between there is painting of trellis, potting plants, cleaning house, sorting of files, sorting wardrobes.

Just realised.....I am doing quite a lot...as I bet you all are. Stay safe folks.

Looking through my " Crafty" odds and ends drawer, rainy day bits. I found a whole bunch of embroidery threads, a transfer and a piece of plain cotton material. I used to do a lot of this so maybe I will make a panel to frame. It is something to pick up any time I am idle.

I've done the Kitchen cupboards, sorted out the cookery books and long-unused baking tins. De-cluttered and tidied once but it soon re-appears again!

And of course there's the garden, always something to do there. Put some daffs and a hyacinth in a vase to enjoy. Smells heavenly this evening.

Our two have always had very strict orders not to leave the yard, but I would not trust Fly to resist the temptation!. We are pretty careful to shut the gates. Jill is pretty good.
We have a small paddock across the drive, and they are more likely to go and play with the ponies if given the chance. The older ones will lift a hoof or toss a head but Zena the young Welsh will join the fun.
Our fencing could do with a good overhaul too! Posts gone at the bottom and need replacing!

Sheep back in the field next to us (Not ours!) The dogs are OK with them except if one breaks into our garden and gets thrown out. Then there is a bit of excitement. Sadly we lost our small flock of 5 from our field on the mountain to thieves last year and have not had the heart to start again with orphan lambs as we did a few years back..That's life!!! Our clever old ewe Molly knew just how to deal with pesky dogs and gave them a few hearty butts in the ribs to teach them respect. I hope they caused some belly aches as they were full of wormer when they were taken!!!

Keeping in touch with family more frequently than usual
cleaning the kitchen cupboards finding a tin of tuna I didn't know I had.
Walking around the block sometimes I turn left and sometimes I turn right just to make life a little more exciting.
Reading and watching TV
Crosswords apparently good exercise for the brain I 'm pretty sure I have at least 1/2 a one

Still on the to do list
Cleaning the windows
Cleaning the car
Tidying the garden.

I'm pacing myself no point over exerting myself and then having nothing left to do ! !

We have an excercise bike as well and I try and do 20 minutes on it a few times a week. I am going to increase that with the current situation and also will walk the dogs a bit more.

Very true about doing jobs that have been put off. Most of our windows paint is peeling and while I will be gardening and playing even more golf I really must get those windows painted when the weather improves.
