X-Factor

Is it just me, or is anyone else totally fed up with yet another season of the X-Factor on a Saturday night?!! It has become so predictable and repetitive, and seems to be targeted at the youngsters, who are probably out on a Saturday night anyway! What do you think?

Used to enjoy the X Factor but have decided not to watch the last two series. Why?Well they seem to focus way too much time on the judges, back stage, history of the acts, what they're families think and so on.Then you only get to listen to probably 1 min of actual singing.Very predictable comments from Simon. Also from acts, all say the same thing....its the only thing I ever wanted to do.....blah blah blah....boring! I don't miss watching it one bit.The Voice is becoming the same.

A somewhat different comment occurred to me in a different context tonight. It's about the screamers in audiences. The other context was a Donald Trump speech. There was no discrimination, they screamed in ecstasy every time he uttered a word. Similarly in X-factor the screaming seems to start with every song and continue throughout the song. Do they even listen to it?

I have decided not to watch it this year as I don't agree with the choice of judges this year and have become tired of the show in general . As you say far too predictable and I felt at times very contrived . I have to say I'm not missing it one bit !

That's two of us then Pam, but I didn't watch it last year either. The fact that they put rubbish acts through at the expense of fantastic singers just to make controversy got to me, big style. The sooner it's gone the better, make room for intelligent tv !

I have to say, I thought it was going to be better this year. I don't know if its an age thing as I am 60 but I don't know half of the songs they sing so don't really enjoy it at all. It is just a money making machine and it seems to me the louder the contestants scream their songs and warble the notes the better marks they get. I think the judges must be tone deaf! I try to avoid it if I can but it is not always possible to.

Used to love it but now it's so fake. It just makes a joke out of Simon Cowell, who looks like a puppet off Spitting Images now he's had a facelift or whatever.
