Hello!

I can’t believe that I’m the only one here. I can’t remember being the first anywhere!

Been an age since I was in Kimberworth.

Kimberworth? Gosh that brings back memories. My Great Grandfather and all his relatives lived there in 18/1900s

I don’t live there..
Back in the 1970s I worked in Rotherham and sometimes went to a nightclub called the Oasis (I think).
Can’t recall much more.

Got my accounts in a twist!

Not sure if you saw this, I think I sent it to myself!

Did you take a dip in the pool, there was also a bowling alley my boyfriend lived in Wingfield we also went to the club on dance nights and Rotherham United Windmill nightclub.,

Never went in the pool, I don’t think I was ever sober enough.
Can’t remember ever using the bowling alley, probably for the same reason.
The Windmill Club at Millmoor I did go to.
They had some good ‘turns’ on and wasn’t too far from the bus station.

Some of the more central pubs were good for entertainment as well.

Happy days.

First time I have looked at this community Forum.

Having lived in Rotherham for nearly all of my life think I know it quite well - but Kimberworth in the 1900 is certainly before my time. I am retired but not quite ancient. (Yorkshire sense of humour)

I also worked in Sheffield so did know that quite well as most of my work colleagues lived and socialised in Sheffield City Centre consequently I joined them.

May be a few more will join in

What made you move to Mexborough?
I spent my teenage years there.
I have a sister who lives in Swinton..
Not been back for ages.

Cheaper properties - along with the excess building in the Rotherham area which is now taking place.
Response from sandie1416 made on 13th Jan 2021 00:14:39 > @Retiredyorkie
I went to school in Swinton and college at Mexborough I lived in Rawmarsh,

Things certainly change over the years there are lots of new properties now being built in all the areas that you have mentioned.
