Hello Liz. Lovely to read your message. What a strange time this has been.
Although retired from teaching for nearly 12 years, I am a very active 71 year old and, in normal times, seem to be busy all the time. I love reading and belong to the Wellingborough U3A Social History group. I also belong to the walking group and lead the local choir. I also having quite a few friends and meet up with them individually for a cuppa at Rushden Lakes, Harrold Country Park and so on.
I've really enjoyed having a lot more time to myself since Lockdown. My husband has been confined to the house but I've discovered some lovely walks in and around town..yes, even in Wellingborough! We live on the edge of town so have access to fields and a newly discovered lake near Stanton Cross. The garden has also never looked tidier!
I watched Yesterday and Rocketman a few weeks ago and loved them, also rewatched A Star is Born, great film. I've just finished Kate Atkinson's A God in Ruins, really Fab and a sequel, sort of, to Life After Life. I'm currently reading the new Lynda La Plants called Buried. My husband and I get through a lot of crime and thrillers. Oh yes, The Couple Next Door is a recent read too, very good.
I'd love to hear some recommendations from you please.

Hi,
Have just joined up the Silversurfers Lockdown Community. I'm fortunate in that I've been able to come out of retirement and work two days a week in the NHS. On days I'm not working, I've turned a negative into a positive on the lockdown and got on with projects in the cottage, painting, planting up herbs and perfumed roses on patio etc and have since acquired a Singer sewing machine so started customising garments which I used to do decades ago, which is great fun. I decided I'd be creative and attempt things I've never done before! Also started working-out/cycling which even I can now see the benefits and looking forward to getting the bikini on if we're able to continue with group holiday to Turkey in September. Fingers crossed! Not really had time to watch films/TV/read at moment but will. Sorry not really much of a history buff, too busy living the life, although I do enjoy history.
