What are you most looking forward to – a pint or a haircut?

Lockdown rules in England are set to ease further from Monday 12th April

Lockdown measures have been gradually easing from 8th March when schools re-opened in England, followed by the re-introduction of the rule of six on 29th March.

The Prime Minister has confirmed we are on track with the roadmap dates originally set out.

With that in mind from Monday 12th April pubs and restaurants (with an outside space) and personal care services such as hairdressers and barbers will be allowed to open.

Pub rules

Pubs and restaurants will be allowed to serve customers with outdoor service only and groups will also be limited by the six people or two household rule.

All customers will be obliged to check in on the NHS Test and Trace app and contactless payment is preferable where broadband and mobile signal allow.

Customers will be allowed inside the pub or restaurant to visit the toilets but a mask must be worn.

There are no rules in place requiring pubs to serve a meal alongside alcohol, and there will be no curfew.

Hair salon rules

Hairdressers and barbers which fall under personal care services, will be allowed to reopen on Monday.

They have been advised, however, to reduce time spent in the chair by the customer by not offering lengthy treatments.

With the easing of the lockdown rules will you be rushing to visit your local pub or getting a well overdue haircut? Or perhaps you’ll be waiting a little longer before you do either?
