Are there ‘boy jobs and girl jobs’ in your home?

Last night Prime Minister Theresa May took part in the informal sofa chat with Matt Baker and Alex Jones alongside her 59-year-old husband Philip May on the BBC One Show.

There were a series of informal, non political questions fired at the couple, and Mrs May made remarks about how the couple divided household chores with ‘boy jobs and girl jobs’, saying that her husband puts out the bins.

There has been some backlash in the press, saying that this was a ‘sexist’ remark.

Mr May explained to the inquisitive hosts: “There’s give and take in every marriage. I get to decide when to take the bins out not if I take the bins out.”
