Cadbury Fudge or Dairy Milk Oreo?

Cadbury has dropped the Fudge bar from its festive selection box and replaced it with a Dairy Milk Oreo, sparking anger from some chocolate lovers.

Fans slam ‘chocolate tyranny’ as Cadbury removes Fudge bar from selection box

The sweet treat has been removed from the £2.99 box, but is still available in the small (£1.09) and Freddo (£2.99) selection packs.

The British confectionery company, which is owned by Mondelez International, said it wanted “to improve the mix and offer more of a variety for our fans”.

Fudge fans took to social media to express their frustration, with Twitter user Mark Atwood declaring: “Christmas is ruined.”

The biscuit-based treat joins Dairy Milk, Crunchie, Dairy Milk Buttons, Double Decker and Wispa in the company’s “best-selling selection box in the UK”.

Cadbury fudge is still available in the small selection box which retails at £1.09

A Cadbury spokesman said in a statement: “This year we have updated the range available within our selection boxes to improve the mix and offer more of a variety for our fans.

“Cadbury Fudge is still available in our small selection box and Freddo selection box but has been removed from the medium selection box to ensure we’re offering choice between the ranges.”

How do you feel about the switch? Are you a Cadbury fan? Do you like fudge? Which do you prefer?

I have tried to boycott Nestle due to their delightful treatment of people in drought areas where Nestle still want to bottle water

I don't buy cadburys anymore. They lied about not shutting the Keynesham plant when they bought the company, Mandelson had a hand in that so no surprise there, but paying the halal tax is beyond the pale.

I wish they would stop americanising our Cadbury’s chocolate, my daughter bought me my favourite box of chocolates, milk tray , who puts apple in chocolate, all the old favourites, orange cream, Turkish delight and such have been replaced by cheap American alternatives and now our Christmas boxes dissatisfied is no where near how I feel

Cadbury’s are trying to save money by having a biscuit with no chocolate & forcing American choices onto the British public.

Until Cadburys stop avoiding tax in this country I wont buy any of their products.. Clearly they are only interested in taking profit from us, and have no idea about product quality or customer satisfaction.
As for Oreos or Chocolate Fudge.. Chocolate Fudge evry time.. but Aldi and Lidl have some much better chocolate at much lower prices!

The American owners of Cadbury's since taking over have used dairy milk to try and hoist their c**p on us mixing it with rubbish in various formats. I'm only disappointed that they still try this and have not learned from their failures and continue to not give a fig of the history and tradition of both Cadbury's and long-term customers
