Are your children and grandchildren distracted by gadgets?

Christmas is a time for the whole family – and for many grandparents, it’s a magical opportunity to connect with the younger generation of their families.

But is Christmas still as important as it once was, and are family traditions still alive and well? Newmarket Holidays surveyed UK grandparents to find out whether the festive season is changing.

The survey revealed a number of modern distractions that can get in the way. Grandparents struggle to keep family Christmas traditions alive due to Grandchildren being distracted by gadgets.

For more than half of respondents (52%), computer games were the main culprit, while around a third said television and mobile phones often come between them and their grandchildren at Christmas.
