Will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day?

The day first became associated with romantic love within the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards.

The day of romantic gestures is almost upon us; shops are bursting with heart shaped goodies and cards, romantic CD’s are being promoted on the television so there is no excuse to forget. The pressure is on!

Valentine’s Day can be such a mixed bag for many.  It is difficult to avoid this time honoured tradition, but how do you mark Valentine’s Day?  Is it a day you look forward to or a day you dread or do you simply ignore it?  Do you spoil the love of your life or feel it’s commercialised and over rated or just for the youngsters?

The day not only highlights what you have when it comes to love but what you don’t have or have lost too.

What are your views? Are you an old romantic at heart?  Do you send a card? Is everyday a special day for you?  Has it become too commercialised? Have you lost the love of your life, so does this day make you feel sad?
