Do You Fancy a Marmite® & Cheese Hot Cross Bun?

Introducing the tastiest new bun on the block!

These are not just any hot cross buns!

Look what Marks & Spencer have just launched – Marmite® & Cheese Hot Cross Buns.

Coming very soon to a store near you and also on Ocado you will be able to but four hot cross buns flavoured with Marmite® yeast extract, Red Leicester and Cheddar cheeses, for a savoury kick. Served toasted with a layer of butter this new flavour is going to appeal to those who ‘love’ Marmite, but will the ‘haters’ be tempted?

You could also try them toasted and slathered in exclusive-to-M&S Marmite® butter – savoury heaven apparently!

For those who think that a hot cross bun should contain fruit, you may well be disappointed as there are no sultanas in the ingredients.

What are your thoughts? Would you like to try one? Or does this not float your boat?

I absolutely hate Marmite but love cheese. I wouldn't want to spoil the cheese - or the hot cross bun - with Marmite! Ugh!

Now you're being ridiculous M&S. It can't be a hot cross bun if it's not made to the correct recipe. By all mean enjoy a marmite and cheese bun but just because someone decided to put a flour and water paste cross on it, does not make it a hot cross bun.

What has happened to M & S I’m all for new things and tastes but they have gone way over the top with their food ranges. I couldn’t think of anything worse than marmite hot cross buns! Stick to everyone’s favourite old fashioned fruit ones. Come on M & S you are losing customers and I’m one of them! Your Christmas range was way over the top!

Not sure if the savoury and sweet would mix very well.
Marmite is a sort after commodity in Scandinavia, and smoked Reindeer meat + Marmite sandwiches, yum, yummy.

When will they stop messing with food. What’s wrong with traditional hot cross buns. Same with mince pies. You get chocolate pastry and weird filling combinations. Leave alone
